Gulf of MisUnderstanding

Gulf of Mis-Understanding
=========================
We have a problem in the Gulf of Mexico with another country who still thinks of us, the USA as a colony.
We are still suffering from a misunderstanding that has not progressed far enough in 2 centuries and through several wars.
America is still a rough country in many ways, in spite of the sophistication of certain regions, New York and the East in general, Los Angeles and much of California, we are still a raw and young country and Thank God for it!
But we have a problem in the Gulf... Colonialism is still biting us, in the Uh, (butt, Gulf?) We thought it was over after the "Tea Party"... No, no, I mean the Real one, the "Original Tea Party", back there when the settlers threw the tea into Boston Harbor and told the Brits to Get Out!... and Stay Out!
Here we are for more than seventy plus days now and the Brits are still Here, with a Hole in the Bucket (of Oil).
BP treats us like a colony, something like India (no offense, mate). They came for the money and will leave us with "The HOLE".
We don't know how to deal with this sticky, smelly mess, because we still haven't resolved our relationship with Old King George.
We don't really want the Brits to leave The Hole for us to fix. After all they have the "skills" and it's really "...their mess", id'n it? Unfortunately the mess happens to be in the soft underbelly of the United States in our valuable Gulf States, valuable for vast ecological resources such as the catching and the Breeding of Fish in vast quantities. Irreplaceable, I am told by the news Experts and such.
So, what's to be done? Do we still need the oil so badly that we can not abandon our "special relationship" with BP and the colonial empire. The workers are offered clean-up work instead of the many-generational tradition of fishing along with the long term damage of cancer (and no breathing Haz-mat masks allowed by BP).
Thanks for the "special relationship".
And, Oh yeah, mates here in the States, what ever happened to "...Government of the People, by the People and For the People. Amen.
